The Stony Plain Golf Course is very excited to introduce a new Head Teaching Professional for the 2024 season. Graeme Nelson will be joining the team from The Derrick Golf and Winter Club where he has spent the last six years. Graeme will be in the proshop early on the spring to learn about our golf operations and meet as much of our membership as he can, and once the weather permits he will be focusing on introducing new lesson programs and growing existing programming that has been offered here at the course. Graeme was born and raised in Dawson Creek BC. He worked at Tobiano golf course in Kamloops for one season before moving to Vancouver Island in 2013. He then pursued golf at a professional level playing mini tours in the States and trying to qualify for the Canadian Tour. After not gaining any status at q school, he decided to switch gears and pursue his passion of teaching. He moved to Edmonton in 2018 to join the PGA of Alberta.
